Music

The aim of the Music Department is to create a love of, and appreciation for, Music - to last students a lifetime.

Classroom Music is offered as an elective from Year 9 to HSC level and has been a great success as is witnessed by the HSC results and Encore.

Over 250 High School students participate in the Moriah Instrumental program, enjoying the many varied Music opportunities at the College. The students take part in a number of groups including:

  • Concert Bands
  • Symphony Orchestra
  • Jazz Ensembles
  • Other smaller ensembles.

The College provides a strong program for its vocalists as well with five groups ranging in experience from Junior Boys to the Senior Mixed Vocal Ensemble.

Many students continue on to Tertiary Music studies, and return to the College to help at the Annual Music Camp, which is a highlight of the College calendar and an opportunity for all Music students, including those in the Primary and Middle Schools, to showcase their talents.
