Jewish Life

If there’s one aspect of Moriah that stands out, it’s the warm Jewish spirit that is in evidence throughout the school.  The children learn of their heritage and gain a deeper appreciation of the rich tapestry of Jewish life. The Ivrit curriculm encompasses both the written and oral aspects of our ancestral language.

Moriah Primary School students:

  • learn Torah text
  • familiarise themselves with the Jewish calendar and associated festivals
  • delve into our culture and traditions
  • grow to love Israel
  • are encouraged to incorporate ethical behaviour into their everyday lives
  • begin each day with a lively prayer service and participate in a weekly Kabbalat Shabbat filled with songs and words from the weekly Sedra

Festivals are eagerly anticipated, prepared for and celebrated. Wherever possible, family members and members of the extended Moriah community are invited to join us.

Understanding that there are others who need and appreciate our support, the children at Moriah participate in a wide range of charity collections, which is a regular feature at weekly assemblies.
