French

Moriah students are given the opportunity to study French throughout High School. Through practical and innovative learning methods such as role-play, drama, French cooking and computer software, students are given the skills to experience the conversational language of every day life.

With the belief that a second language is useful in so many different applications including careers, teachers in this department aim to instill in their students an appreciation for other cultures and an appetite to travel the world and enjoy foreign films, magazines, music and art.

Students are encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities such as inter-school competitions and visits to the Alliance Française de Sydney. They are also given the opportunity to e-mail students in France.  Senior students can look at exchange programs, perhaps upon completion of Year 12 or in conjunction with Tertiary studies.
