Welfare

An excellent welfare system is pivotal to the success of any school. At Moriah College, we pride ourselves on the fact that we have created welfare systems, which support and nurture the students whilst encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves and their actions.

Welfare Team
The Middle School Welfare Team - consisting of the Middle School Principal, Head of Welfare, Year Co-ordinators and Middle School Psychologist - meets on a fortnightly basis to discuss students and Middle School welfare issues.

Tutor Groups
Operating on a hierarchical system of support, all students belong to a “Tutor” group, comprised of 15 to 19 students from their year group.

Year Co-ordinators
Each Year group also has a Year Co-ordinator who remains with the same Year group throughout Middle School, overseeing and co-ordinating the welfare of the students

Middle School Head of Welfare and Discipline
It is his/her job to oversee the smooth functioning of the Welfare system.

Middle School Psychologist
The Middle School has its own psychologist who works with staff, students and parents to address their particular needs. The psychologist is involved in assessing students, counselling parents and students and organising parent and student workshops.
