Corinne Abrams - Director of Education Support and Inclusion K-12

Corinne Abrams’ role has expanded to Director of Education Support and Inclusion K-12. Her new role will support the inclusion of all students at varying levels of risk, within our school community.
The process commences with the identification of a need that requires adjustments and continues through to each subsequent year. This ensures ongoing informed support for all students with various abilities from Years K-12. A Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) is co-constructed by the Case Manager, specialists, support educators (where appropriate) and classroom/subject educators to document the pathway of adjustment and intervention for each student.  All plans are overseen by Corinne to ensure a standard of care and ongoing targeted, purposeful support and intervention is maintained.
All aspects of the whole child’s development are considered through this plan.  The PLPs document the students’ backgrounds, areas of difficulty, SMART ( Simple, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely) learning goals and the adjustments the educators will provide, in order to create optimal learning opportunities to ensure that the personalised goals are achieved.
Transition between year levels and ultimately from the Primary School campus to the High School campus is effective and seamless due to the comprehensive sharing of case specific information. No information is lost and sharing is specific and accurate. The team, inclusive of parents whose voice is key within the PLP, creates a psychologically safe environment for all and empowers vulnerable students to become the best version of themselves. Inherent in the outcome for this position is consolidated parent feedback that supports a sense of security and connection to the College and the educators. Thus, facilitating trust in the process, and ultimately achieving a vision of a positive, caring partnership with students and parents of all vulnerable students from Years K-12.
Corinne will be monitoring and tracking the processes and procedures for all students identified as needing specific adjustments and is looking forward to continuing to build positive and caring partnerships with students and their parents.
