Meet Our New College Captains

college captains

Hi,

We are the College Captains for 2018/19, Matthew Blau and Zoe Said. Moriah College is one of the most important institutions in the Sydney Jewish community, as it represents communal continuity. We both feel honoured and privileged to represent the Moriah Community.
As College Captains, we are the custodians of the College’s ethos and values. We are committed to undertaking our duties with maturity and pride as exemplary role models for all students, while ensuring a prominent student voice at our College. We are passionate about establishing a wider sense of social consciousness within the Moriah community. As a leadership team, our first social action initiative was supporting the ‘Fiver for a Farmer’ campaign, through which we raised thousands of dollars for Australian farmers affected by drought.
This term, we are excited to begin implementing new initiatives, such as a revised peer-support program, additional Tefillah opportunities and a range of new extracurricular and informal leadership options. We wish everybody a fulfilling, exciting term and we look forward to working with you all. We would love to hear from anyone with ideas for change. Please do not hesitate to contact us: matthew.blau@student.moriah.nsw.edu.auzoe.said@student.moriah.nsw.edu.au

Matthew Blau - Fun Fact: I’m planning on climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in December, with my brother and father.

Zoe Said - Fun Fact: I’m terrified of snakes, spiders and the dark but ready to jump out of a plane.
